Describe your Role/Responsibilities on your project
I joined Genesis consulting as a Senior Manager. Most recently I worked for a former sister company of Genesis Consulting and bring 7 years of professional experience. As a Senior Manager I will be responsible for identifying, interviewing, and managing some of the most talented consultants in the country while working with the executive team on account management and business development related duties. I am truly looking forward to working with a team that is widely known and respected in the industry, and needless to say I am very excited about what the future may bring.
What is your favorite Hobby/activity outside of work?
I do not get to do it often, but SKIING! I started skiing at age 4 and I have loved the sport ever since. Despite the cold weather and early mornings, there is nothing like being on the slopes. You may not be able to buy happiness, but you can buy a life ticket!
What is your favorite Quote?
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan…It is nice to be reminded, that even the “greats” fall down sometimes.
Describe your most interesting client experience
My most interesting client experience… I have had a few interesting client experiences over the years, but the one that stands out to me today is when I learned to trust my gut. We always here the “customer/client” is always right, which I do believe and respect. However, I also feel that sometimes you have to trust your gut.
I was working with a client and quickly realized that no one would be good enough to fill their opening unless I cloned the individual who previously held this position. This requirement tested me on various levels, and after weeks of interviews and rejections, I found a candidate that my gut told me would knock it out of the park. She had the skills, experience and, in my opinion, had the drive needed for this role. Despite a lot of hesitation/pushback from the client’s end they finally agreed to give this candidate a chance. This candidate has now been with this company for over 5 years and received 2 promotions within that timeframe.
What fictional character best portrays your personality?
I am going to have to go with Ramona Quimby, form the Ramona Quimby series. She wasn’t afraid to get messy, always in for an adventure, loves her family, and she just can’t help herself when something looks like fun.
