Derek Johnson
Director of Sales & Alliances
Derek joined Genesis Consulting in 2024 as the Director of Sales and Alliances. In this role, he is responsible for developing the Go-to-Market strategy and building a partner ecosystem to drive value and innovation for clients. Derek leverages his exceptional communication, attention to detail, and leadership skills to effectively manage Genesis's revenue growth objectives and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and partners.
With 20 years of experience in the cloud software and technology industry, Derek spent the last 11 years at SAP Concur, where he led the Partner Alliance strategy in North America. Prior to SAP Concur, he spent 8 years providing outsourced managed print consulting services for Xerox Corporation. Derek has extensive experience helping organizations in both the public and commercial sectors implement SAP, Concur, and partner solutions to solve business challenges and achieve their desired outcomes.
Derek earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University, where he was an Academic All-Conference athlete in both football and baseball. During his final year, he served as the Head JV Baseball Coach and Varsity Pitching Coach for his alma mater while completing his degree. He later earned a Master of Education in Applied Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Residing in Woodbury, MN, just outside of St. Paul, Derek enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, coaching their sports teams, and participating in the many outdoor activities that Minnesota's lakes have to offer.
